Frustration

You've probably seen this before...but remind yourself. If the world was shrunk to a village of 100 people...this is what it would look like.

If equality exsits, why are people treated differently?

Why is it that the people with the most power get the most choice and resources?

Ugh. Frustration.

  2. "Why is it that the people with the most power get the most choice and resources?"

Because they have the most power.

  3. But doesn't that frustrate you? Who gives them permission to use their power against those who don't have it?

  4. We do. What have you done about it? Nothing. Therefore, you're letting them go ahead.

  5. True to a certain point, but then again wat about those people who stand up to the big man, get fucked and run over by their big man tanks? what about that douche, anonymous douche? What have you done lately or is it that you give yourself an excuse that you don't wanna change the world therefore don't have to to try.... go down some vodka, pity yourself and decide wether you have a need to stay alive. Or alternatively get off Beckies blog (but don't forget to check in from time to time) and do something nice, ie: write your name next time so we know who killed santa for everybody else.

  6. You're right. I don't do enough. Does it make you feel good, me saying that? I am human. One person. Have you not read the rest of my blogs? Surely getting word out does something, reaches someone. I'm not pretending I have it all together. I will be the first person to put my hand up and say that, no, I don't have everything together, I'm messed up and I'm in no way perfect, but I am trying to do what I can to help those who can't help themselves. I try to live like Jesus, and in doing so, hopefully show His love to others. If even just one person saw that through me, or through my blog, maybe then they'll see what they can do for others too.

  7. Calm down, it wasn't a threat. I'm certainly not trying to blame you for anything.

I just feel that one person can actually change things, if they do it right and feel strongly enough about it. Wasn't it one man, Martin Luther King Jr who raised the issue about civil rights and changed a nation? A nation that, by the way, was completely for racial discrimination? That's a ratio of 1:over 100 million.

If changing things all alone is too difficult, then rally people together. Power in numbers. The first rule of rioting.

  8. Just to start i think riots and protests are stupid, maybe i would feel differently if I believed in something that was being protested but at the moment that is my opinion.

I think what annoys me about them is that they are often a superficial gathering of people who think they have a common cause but who don't actually know one another. Change doesn't start in big numbers, it starts in small relationships. The way to really have impact or change someone else's life for the better isn't to yell and wave signs at people. Its to talk to them, show kindness and form relationships with people. Change based on anything less is superficial and wont last.

Beckie shows kindness, she's making change.

  10. What change are you making Beckie?

By the way, sorry if I sound like I'm going on the offensive, I'm really not trying to, just trying to have a discussion. My bad if it sounds that way.

Also, what makes you think you don't have power?

  11. I never said that I dont have power. I live in a house, in a safe country. I have a bank account. I go to uni. Of course I have power. Im frustrated at the fact that people with power take away the rights of those who dont have power. Those who dont have an education. Those who cant make their own decisions for fear of loss, fear of discrimination, fear of rejection, fear of death. Im not trying to sound high and mighty, because I definately dont have all the answers. Im merely putting myself out there, trying to get the word out, and share the love of Jesus.

I know youre not trying to be mean. I just feel really stronlgy about this stuff, and get a bit protective over my opinions. I would rather you at least leave a name though, just so I knew who I was talking to.

  12. My name wouldn't matter, but for the sake of conversation, call me Blake. And thank you for understanding that I'm not trying to be rude, I think it shows that I'm also quite protective of my opinions.
I've read some of your blog posts and I just seem to get the idea that you don't realize just how much power you have, how much power any person has. It's just a matter of how you use it. You're definitely doing what you can, but it seems to me that you can do a lot more than you realize.

Samantha: The sentence I wrote about rioting was nothing more than an example of how numbers can make a difference. I agree, rioting is rarely more than a superficial gathering. However, you also said that they're not always that way: "...are OFTEN a superficial gathering of people.." Depending on which riot you choose to look at, it can be seen both ways. I'm not suggesting that Beckie should start a riot to get the point across, it was merely an idea to express what one person (or a large group of people) could achieve. Nor was I saying that Beckie was doing nothing - at least, not in the way it sounds in my earlier post. I simply meant that at this moment, nothing has affected anyone else. It's not for a lack of trying. These things take time, and I'm sure she can make an effect.

Gilian: I personally think that the idea of "Santa" is silly. Parents know that when kids grow older, they're going find out some way or another that Santa doesn't exist. that, and I don't see what a man in a red suit has to do with Christmas.
In regards to one man against a tank - he had the right idea, he just went about it in the wrong way.
My "excuse," as you say, for not changing the world is that I don't know how. Nor do I see anything that I can change that people aren't already doing. At least, not at this moment.

Goodbye, lovely chat. We should do this again some time.

  13. Epic comment. I think what our problem is is that our opinions are all too similar "Blake". After reading that last comment I really believe that. Thanks for challenging me, really. It's probably what I need most. PLease keep reading, keep commenting and challenging me. I'll try to be more gracious in my arguements.

  14. Duly noted. I agree, our opinions are much too similar. As you'll try to be more gracious in your arguments, so shall I. I'll also try to keep from getting heated - it's not exactly the best way to get a point across.

This will sound slightly stupid, but if you're wondering why it was that I randomly challenged you in such a way, it's because I tend to see potential good in people. Take note - potential. You have it, it's just a matter of getting that out. Take care.

Just don't ask why I'm doing this, because I really wouldn't be able to explain.

  15. I am still intrigued as to why though. Like really..why me? Can one really see someone through their ranting on a computer screen? Feel free to try explain it anytime you like. :D

  16. I'll try to keep this brief. Yes, you can see someone through ranting on a computer. It's all about words. Words are what we use to express our thoughts - every word is a thought. Someone who "tYpS lYk Dis" reveals a lot of how they think, the same way someone who types in the standard english format reveals much of how they think. From what I've learned, people who don't take the time to correct things such as grammar or punctuation either don't think things through, or don't have a good command over their language.

    Yours sincerely, Anonymous.

  17. I too apologize..... it could easily be seen as an attack i guess thats just the problem with technology you can't tell the other person's attitude. Sweetbix Gilian
